Also known as TRUTH.coffeecult, this two-outlet Cape Town chain (at Green Point and the V&A Waterfront) was founded in 2010 by David Donde - a self-proclaimed coffee evangelist. But given his roots founding Origin and the Specialty Coffee Association of Southern Africa in 2006, who can argue? Even if the guy also spends his time as a local TV talk show host and writes automobile articles for the local edition of GQ. The concept may mark off checkboxes for every "Third Wave" cliché in the book, but hey - the coffee is some of the best in town.
