This review is specifically for the Il Fornaio restaurant and bar, separate from the café. This is another large restaurant among this extensive, but decent quality, chain. Attached to the Pine Inn, there are dozens of tables in several dining areas -- plus a café in the central entryway. Mandatory Eros Ramazzotti music plays overhead.
Using a two-group, Mr. Espresso Rancilio machine at the bar, the pull an espresso shot of a significant size. However, it is better than the typical Il Fornaio espresso (though not as good as the one served in their adjacent café). They serve espresso with a medium brown crema of modest thickness with some larger bubbles in it. It has the classic Mr. Espresso flavor of oak and some spice, and it's served with the ever-bewlidering lemon rind.
