| Essentially the same as a Schaerer Ambiente with a different hopper. Idiot-proof choice of many Starbucks (and now Borders' Seattle's Best Coffee chains) with poorly-trained baristas. Starbucks introduced these machines in the early 2000s as a way of reducing repetitive stress injuries among employees. But because they are so automated, they cannot simply make ristretto shots. Ask your barista to redo the shot because it sucks, and their hands are completely tied with this machine. While they do achieve consitency, it is consistently average at best. |
