This more recent addition to the Intelligentsia chain is known as the Millennium Park store. Inside there's a bit of space, but little of it dedicated to seating: mostly a wall of colorful bags of roasted coffee, few tables (mostly counter seating and one giant, shared table in the center), and a relatively generous-sized serving area. The walls currently sport clever industrial photos promoting bands for the local Pitchfork Music Festival. Their dueling orange FB70s were replaced by a single three-group Synesso. They also upgraded their serving area bar to something longer and wooden to handle their various single origin espresso, Hario drip bar, Clover, and Chemex offerings. Writing your drink order on a mini-blackboard, they pull short espresso shots with a richly textured, medium-to-dark brown crema of modest thickness. It has an intensely robust aroma, with a sweet flavor of molasses and almost syrup-like qualities. Lives up to the Intelligentsia standard. They also have a Clover and offer the single origin varietals to go along with it.
