This Northern Italian restaurant is fairly impressive for Kirkland, WA. It's won a number of Seattle Magazine, Gourmet Magazine, James Beard, and Wine Spectator awards and is located in a ranch-like house among a small evergreen forest and a number of surrounding condos and apartments. Candlelit tables for 64 with white tablecloths, wooden floors, and a single-group La San Marco machine. With it they pull shots of Herkimer Coffee (The Espresso Blend) as a properly short shot with a potent aroma. The medium brown crema has a thinner consistency, and the flavor is mostly of potent spice and pepper. Served in white ACF cups. A surprisingly good example for restaurant espresso.
