Review
Sister to Cape Town's Beluga Restaurant, the caviar theme is extended to this signature restaurant in Cape Town's V&A Waterfront. They offer open-air heated patio seating along the quay, and there's a large assortment of white-tablecloth tables and chairs in a dark, modern interior. Inside there are wood panel walls, walls of wine racks under glass, and a menu that boasts a confusing mix of sushi, fresh seafood, game, and things that go with tobasco. From a two-group Fiorenzato at the rear bar, they pull shots of Lavazza with a modest-sized medium brown crema, slightly on the thin side, for a pricier R13.95. But it is surprisingly potent for Lavazza, with flavors of pepper and spice. (They tend to rotate their coffee blends with a couple of other purveyors.) Served in delicate Fortis porcelain cups.
