Also known as the TRUTH.coffeecult Depot at The Rocketshed, this is an outdoor cart/kiosk in front of the V&A Waterfront Information Centre, near Vaughan Johnson's Wine Shop. It's a barebones operations with electrical cords running across the asphalt with a couple of Truth. parasols, some food machinery, and a two-group Astoria in front of a half-dozen outdoor tables. You will find baristas speaking English and even Swahili here. They serve espresso shots (R14) with a mottled medium and darker brown crema. It's served as a double shot by default, and the body is quite decent. It has a flavor of mild cloves and herbal pungency with a sweetness at the bottom of the cup. This is a good espresso, and this is one of the few examples where the espresso shots are better than the flat whites - which here are weaker, more milky, and more like a café au lait. Served in paper take away cups only, unfortunately.
