Next to its Jardine Bakery, this is the main restaurant. It offers rather unique, and pricey, dinners with white tablecloths - including five-course chef menus and wine pairings that go from pricey to ridiculous. The food may get overly busy and complex with ingredients and presentation, but it's one of the strongest culinary attractions in Cape Town's City Bowl (or CBD). The bar at the ground floor entrance employs a two-group Brasilia machine. The upstairs dining area exhibits more provocative modern art. They serve espresso in tall, narrow Buondi Caffè-logo cups - and serve it a bit tall in these cups. It has a medium brown, even crema - occasionally thin - but the cup body is not diluted by the size of the pour. It has a wholesome herbal flavor and tastes a little more Italian-style than Portuguese. An expensive R17.
