One of the better restaurants in the small town of Lajes do Pico, this is a big space overlooking a sizeable public square in front. There's outdoor seating (smokers!) in front with rather extensive table seating inside. The walls are decorated heavily with Sical-branded artwork. Using a two-group Fiamma at the bar (which is often not in use), they serve espresso with an even, medium-to-dark brown crema. It primarily has a smoky, peppery flavor and is served in a tall, Sical-branded Lote Sublime tazzina from Cup & Saucer, inside two laters of saucers. (Talk about ornate for the islands.) ?0.50.
