This Bengaluru airport installment of the global Espressamente chain from Illy sits outside Gates 11 & 12. It is decorated in Espressamente modern red and silver: red, Illy-branded walls, red and silver tables, and a counter decorated with designer Illy cups. Using a three-group La Marzocco behind the bar, they pull shots of espresso with a thinner crema that can vary from a medium brown to darker brown with medium brown flecks. The body is on the thin side, but it has a well-blended flavor of mild spice, some pungency, and a touch of wood to give it a broader flavor profile. When the crema is darker, it also carries more tobacco flavor. Served in Illy designer IPA cups for a highway-robbery Rs 147 as an espresso and oddly Rs 143 for a cappuccino. (A doppio for Rs 193.)
