Bright café is a North Beach classic since 1988. Many small indoor cafe tables with a lot of "Cinzano"-like print art, clean surfaces, and East-facing glass windows. A few outdoor tables along the café front. Espresso relies on the Illy "system" and is served in Illy logo cups out of a large, shiny La Spaziale. I've had better and worse espresso here. The flavor can vary from a little sour and slightly medicinal to something much better if you explicitly request a short pour: a fuller, robust herbal flavor. Even, dark brown crema runs a little thin. Capable of very good espresso at times, but it's inconsistent.
