This offspring of Citizen Cake is a café/bar at the top floor of the downtown Virgin Megastore. They offer panini, pastries, wine, beer, sake drinks, and espresso. Plus a few (less than before) high-end chocolates and other edibles. There's even a self-service cupcake decorating bar at times. Seating is either at a curving counter with stools or low cushions and tables at the large windows overlooking sunset views of downtown. Using a two-group, UNIC Twin Phoenix, they serve espresso with a thinner medium brown crema of decent consistency. It's rather full in their Illy-logo, or Illy designer, IPA cups, so their espresso can be thin-bodied - but with the usual Illy aroma and flavor of wood and mild spices. They can also be sloppy in presentation: a bit of espresso splatter at times. Shots can inconsistently vary in thickness of the crema (probably due to Illy can freshness) and body. [CLOSED: Shut down in 2009 along with the Virgin Superstore that housed it.]
