Near the Flatiron Building, this kiosk arguably put the next door All Star Cafe & Bakery at 550 Market St. out of business in its first year of existence. There are morning lines of commuters waiting for their lattes, and an overworked crew of three in tight quarters gets the most out of their Verismo machine. The end result has a pale crema of decent thickness and a flavor of cedar and mild spice. A typical average effort from Starbucks. Unfortunately for consumers, the nearby All Star Cafe (and I am no fan of that chain) made significantly better espresso. [CLOSED: Prima Cosa Caffe as of 2010.]
