Review
This combination chocolatier/gelato bar, from the founder of the local Sweet Inspirations bakery chain, replaced the short-lived Stonehouse Olive Oil in this location when it opened in July 2005. They sell Leonidas chocolates and Ciao Bella gelato, but they also serve espresso from a single-group UNIC Rumba. There is no seating inside, making this almost kiosk-like. However, there are a few chairs out front for outdoor seating. They pour their espresso not into aluminum tins, but oddly designer Illy IPA cups - and then they transfer it to small Illy paper cups. The co-owner (often on shift) makes the best espresso: you'll know he because he's a clean freak at the espresso machine, which is always a good thing. They produce a modestly sized shot, so the flavor is quite good and unusual: it has a potent flavor of honey-like sweetness and the consistency of a fine liquor. The crema has improved greatly since they opened in 2005: it's now a full, even medium brown. [CLOSED: as of 2011]
