Owner Jocelyn Bulow is opening a series of sisters to the original Potrero Hill bistro, and this one, while only 36 seats, is twice the size of the original. This bistro replaced the unfortunately unsuccessful Palatino in August 2005. In its place they bring a lot of French attitude and inexpensive crêpes in addition to typical bistro fare. They serve espresso from a two-group La Spaziale in the kitchen. Interestingly, they serve it in a shotglass placed on an Illy/IPA saucer - so you can clearly see the 2mm thick layer of pale crema that dissipates quickly. It has a very mild flavor of spice and a little wood - that benign Illy flavor of perfectly prepared yet old coffee - but it is tastefully done. Very little aroma. [CLOSED: Replaced by Tinderbox restaurant by 2007.]
