Mobile espresso cart/kiosk at the 120 Howard St. courtyard. (The sister kiosk is around the corner at Mission & Spear Streets.) Like its sister, there's no real place to sit and sip - so everything is all "to go." Despite how much that offends my sensibilities, they serve a pretty decent espresso - better than their sister kiosk - in a small paper cup from a two-group La Spaziale. Here the staff (the barista and cashier) seem to know almost all their customers by name - which also indicates how regular the crew is (always a good sign). The cup as a modest layer of an even, healthy looking, medium brown crema and a smoky flavor accented by pepper. Because of its modest pour size, the flavor is relatively concentrated - avoiding the overextracted curse you've come to expect from a spot like this.
