AKA "Roast Co." or "Roast Coffee Co.", they are not to be confused with the Roast Coffee Company in Milwaukee, WI (they really need more original and Google-friendly names than this, don't you think?).
This microlot roasting company is a 2008 collaboration between SF-based based wine & spirits director, Andrew Green, and local master roaster Alex Roberts. They employ small batch roasting techniques, using a 1960s cast iron, German-made Probat UG-22 roaster, and source from organic, shade grown, and fair trade sources whenever possible.
Originally designed for servicing the restaurant and food industry ("by the restaurants, for the restaurants" was their original motto), they have since expanded to provide full service operations of equipment, sourcing and training for other "projects" and even home subscriptions.
