Based in the Sorrento suburb of Piano di Sorrento, Caffè Maresca is said to have begun with Giuseppe Maresca's birth in 1910 in an environment filled with the scent of roasting coffee. His mother, Maria Laura Gargiulo, was a coffee roaster, and even today Caffè Maresca (aka Antica Torrefazione Giuseppe Maresca) is considered a part of Torrefazione Caffè Michele Gargiulo.
Their signature blend is 100% arabica and bears his name. Maresca also roasts custom blends, as they do for notable restaurants such as Don Alfonso 1890. They're also dedicated to the local art of "tosta a legna", or wood-roasting their coffees.
