Native of Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, Andrew Barnett has been roasting coffee on the West Coast for a number of years. He founded/owned Ecco Caffè until selling it to Intelligentsia. He turned to Kickstarter for funding, partnered with Anthony Myint for trendy salads and waffles, and opened this namesake café in 2013.
Andrew still judges for the Cup of Excellence and the Good Food Awards. He direct sources most of their coffees and, given space constraints, micro-batch roasts under the Linea Coffee label at Highwire Coffee in Emeryville. CA using a vintage 1950s UG-22 Probat roaster.
