Everybody loves Phil, aka Phil Jaber. He is a hell of a friendly guy and he loves his coffee. However, go into one of Phil's stores (this main one formerly known as Gateway Market) and ask about the beans blended in one of his many roasts and you won't get a straight answer. Instead, you'll get some obscure elixir-like description based in adjectives, not nouns. I asked about one blend, and all I got was "it has dark roast and light roast mixed together".
Even if Philz doesn't come off as very knowledgeable - unlike his Sunset counterparts in Alvin Azadkhanian and Henry Kalebjian. But the roasts are pretty fresh and decent for local coffee.
